Afternoon in Town

We were allowed to take Zhenya into town this afternoon. He wanted to go to the museum and see a travelling exhibit about the body etc. and some quirky birth defects. It was more like a Ripley's Believe it or Not. It is a travelling exhibit from St. Petersburg. Of course we had to stop at MacDonald's before we took him back. Ray was looking a little thin, so I even let him have some ice cream! Oh, by the way - Court date is Tuesday! We can then go to the Embassy on Wed. and come home on Thursday. We are scheduled to come home on Saturday. We are torn. Zhenya doesn't want us to go without him, but as you know, there is the 10 day waiting period and then we would have to go to Russia for his birth certificate. No one can predict what will happen there, or how long it will take. That is why we were planning on coming home, and making a second trip back. I tell you, it is heart wrenching. All he wants to do is come home. Any input would be appreciated. We will let you know what we decide. Love you ALL!!

Happy day. Court on Tuesday.
Here's my two cents worth. Everything is fine at home. You won't have much time to do things just with Zhenya when you get home. Enjoy it now and don't worry about us.
He has never had a family. Let him get to know you a little more and then he can get hit with the gang when he gets home.
Of course, he is scared for you to leave him. He's never had anyone to trust in before. Let him feel you are there for him and always will be.
It seems like you've been gone a long time but in the scheme of things it is very brief.
Okay, maybe that was a nickel's worth.

Hey mom, glad to hear about your court date. So, do you have to wait untill after the 10 day waiting period to go to Russia?
I agree a lot with LeeAnn. Things are fine here, so don't worry about anyone here. The girls are fine, although maybe staying up too late on the weekends, but that's pretty normal.
Maybe dad could just come home or something. Of course if you come home for the 10 days, at least 3 of those is just traveling, and you have to get re-adjusted to the time again.
Well, those are my thoughts. It's up to you guys of course, but don't come home just because you're worried about things here.

It sounds like things are going well for you. You know our situation with Ruslan and planning on leaving him to come home for the 10 day waiting period. I am really glad we ended up staying. So much happened in that time that I would never have been able to know about or understand. It was a good bonding time for us. I will always be grateful that I stayed. I know that you will just do what is best for your situation. He is a cute boy. We are thinking of you.
