WELCOME !!!
The real purpose of this blog is to keep everyone updated on our adoption journey. Hope you don't mind if I get side-tracked every once in a while. As most of you know, our journey began last October. We are still waiting to hear if our petition has been accepted. After numerous "re-do's" of all the necessary forms, we are now expecting to hear tomorrow!!

I have been following this blog with some interest for a few months - seeing as this process could imaginably affect me as a cousin (really, I don't see how, but that is where the intrest comes from).
What I have seen is a sort of diary that documents everything as it happens, but what I haven't seen and what I would like to see is an explanation - just for my own enlightenment perhaps - of WHY. Why go to Europe ot adopt, why adopt teenagers, why adopt children after your own children are grown and you already have grandchildren? Why not pour this energy into other projects like a mission, or leisure, or grand-parenting?
Just curious.
